Since 1941, the Scott County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) has been protecting and preserving land and water resources in Scott County. We are dedicated to working directly with landowners and agencies:
-- to promote the wise and sustainable use of our land and water related resources
-- to educate and inform the public about these uses
-- to help solve resource problems within the District
-- to serve as a county-wide natural resource information and referral center.

MISSION STATEMENT:
It is the objective of the Scott SWCD to carry out a well-rounded program of conservation by working in partnership with local, regional, state and federal conservation agencies and organizations, to obtain available technical, financial and education resources, and focus or coordinate them to help Scott County residents conserve, improve and sustain our natural resources.

The Scott SWCD is a political subdivision of the State of Minnesota established to carry out a program for the conservation, use and development of soil, water and related resources. Five locally elected Scott Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors provide leadership and governance and also develop policy, long-range plans and budgets.

Our next Board of Supervisors meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at 8:30 a.m.
