Land and Water Services

Technical Assistance and Cost Share Program
Our land and water services aim to reduce erosion, improve water quality, and repair the land in Scott County. Our services include cost share for many types of conservation practices, and technical assistance from our team of certified engineers and natural resource specialists.

The Technical Assistance and Cost Share (TACS) Program supports implementation of “on-the-ground” conservation projects that protect and improve water quality in rivers, lakes, streams and other valuable water resources in Scott County. Landowners and local units of government can request technical assistance and funding assistance (cost share) through the SWCD for implementation of practices.
TACS is implemented by the SWCD throughout Scott County through partnership agreements with four water management agencies, including Scott Watershed Management Organization, Prior Lake Spring Lake Watershed District, Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization, and the Lower Minnesota River Watershed District.
